VicLeka is a collaborative project by Vic Godard, British singer/songwriter and pioneer of English punk and Aleksandar Mladenovic Leka, a Serbian artist/printmaker. The resulting artists’ book, VicLeka consists of 12 diptychs and a limited edition Vic Godard CD “VicLeka-Live and Rare vol. 3”.
The prints are inspired by 12 of Godard’s songs from his 40-year career in punk, swing and Northern soul. Each diptych brings together Godard’s handwritten lyrics printed by hand with Leka’s imagery inspired by the song. These are not illustrations but a visual answer to the song.
The work contains 12 diptych prints in a handmade and printed box by Leka.
