Danielle Creenaune, Cinco Piedras III, 2009, Stone Lithograph, chine colle, 22 x 27.5cm
Danielle Creenaune
Danielle Creenaune’s work reflects hybrid landscapes; which are both inherited and imagined. While the landscapes are real, there is a merging of present adopted European landscapes and those, which long for the Australian landscape of her past. The work proves an interest in what landscape holds for the individual in terms of memory, private connection and a sense of belonging. The Cinco Piedras series translates from spanish meaning “Five Stones”, all of which were worked on simultaneously and intuitively. In subjective discourse, each lithographic stone exists as a landscape in itself, a quiet contemplative place drawing out an image within.
