Lives and works in Poland.

Bialas’ work aims to interpret the city around him and the influence this has on his knowledge and awareness of the city’s rules. His intention is not to depict the modern world but to create an alternative reality for it. The world he creates in his prints is based upon common phenomena such as the structures of urban architecture, social infrastructure and the constant changes and movements in the urban landscape. He says of his work, “The notion of genius loci - protective spirit of a city, is very important in my works. It gives the space its individual character and makes it feel unique. A spirit of a place is not something tangible, it's a specific atmosphere of private places, which is closed in the apartments and houses and public places, where human presence is essential for their existence.”
